I thought I’d share this recipe after showing it on Instagram last week and thought I’d share the how-to here on the blog. The recipe is adapted from this, I made some minor changes.
You’ll need:
2/3 cp walnuts
2/3 cp almonds
2/3 cp oats
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp sea salt
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cp dark chocolate or carob chips
1/4 cp agave nectar
1 tbs creamy peanut butter
Add dry ingredients (except chocolate) to food processer and blend until everything is finely chopped. All the peanut butter, vanilla and peanut butter and combine and then add the chocolate. Form into balls and freeze for about 1/2 hr to firm.
I’m sure you could make all sorts of variations of this, including adding protein powder or honey as well as ground flax seed.
The whole family loves these and it’s a great, fast alternative to other sweet things. I find this very helpful because I have such a sweet tooth, I crave chocolate & sweet things constantly!
